Booking Policy
Deposit policy:
Your deposit acts as both confirmation for your allotted time and date, as well as a drawing fee.
Unfortunately, this deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. If you are unwell and can provide a doctor’s certificate (incl. for covid) this policy can be flexible, but a change of mind will not preserve this deposit.
Please note: Due to chronic health reasons I will sometimes be required to attend a doctor’s appointment at late notice, or experience a flare of my illness and have to reschedule. Should this be the case, I will of course honor your deposit and try and reschedule our appointment asap. As my health is chronic and something I am unable to control, it is a part of my practice that this is considered.
Before your appointment:
- Check your emails/phone on the day, in case there are any last-minute issues on my end that may mean needing to reschedule.
- Please don't come in for your appointment with fake tan on the area we will be tattooing as it affects the tattoo and healing.
- Please do not come to your appointment hungover. I will not tattoo anyone hungover as a strict personal policy.
- Make sure you eat and stay hydrated before coming to our appointment (your body will be better prepared for the process of receiving a tattoo)
Also, I personally find it helps to have a sugary snack whilst getting tattooed but it is not strictly necessary.
- Please let me know of any skin conditions that you might have in advance
- Please let me know of any medical conditions which might affect your ability to sit (low blood pressure etc)
- Please let me know your preferred pronoun if you are comfortable doing so :)
During your appointment:
- Please bring CASH for payment. I do not accept bank transfers, PayPal, or EFTPOS on the day.
- On the day of your booking please let me know if you're feeling nervous or anxious at all! part of my job is making you feel safe and cared for, and if a little extra care will make this process feel better for you I want to do everything I can :)
I understand that tattoo shop situations can be a little scary sometimes, but I will do everything I can to make the appointment as relaxing as possible.
- Feel free to let me know if you would prefer to listen to music on headphones rather than talking when I am tattooing you (often people have said they thought it might be considered rude - not at all! I understand that everyone processes pain differently and if it helps you then go for it!)
About my own work:
I take pride in my work and in offering my clients the best emotional and mental energy I am able to (I consider it an emotional and energetic exchange as well as a tattoo process) As such I feel it important to mention that I have mental health issues and chronic pain and that both can sometimes flare up suddenly - I find at times like these it is better to reschedule rather than jeopardize both the quality of your tattoo experience and my physical and mental health (I also find being transparent about my anxiety/mental health is the best way to ensure we understand each other and avoid dishonesty).
